Could you be a Volunteer Driver?

Our volunteer drivers make a real difference to people in the community who are unable to drive, cannot access public transport, or find it difficult to get around. By offering your time, you can help ensure that clients are able to attend essential appointments and stay connected.

With a growing number of clients, we are always looking for new drivers to join our team. As a volunteer driver, you will use your own vehicle to transport clients to and from their appointments. Journeys are arranged to fit around your availability, whether you prefer a short local drive once a week, occasional longer journeys, or more regular trips to a variety of locations. There is always a way to get involved that suits you.

There is no minimum commitment and no obligation to accept any journey. Even offering just one drive a week can make a meaningful difference to someone living nearby.

In return, drivers receive 45p per mile, full support from our office team, access to additional (non-compulsory) training opportunities, and the rewarding feeling of giving something back to the community.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer driver, we would love to hear from you. Please contact your local office or click the link below to access an application form.

We are also looking for Car Scheme Administrators

Our car scheme volunteer administrators play a vital role in supporting our service. They work closely with the Office Manager, volunteer drivers, and our clients to help ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include answering phone calls, taking details of transport requests, contacting volunteer drivers to check availability, and scheduling journeys on our system. Our administrators often build meaningful relationships with clients, providing a friendly, reassuring voice at the end of the phone.

This role is ideal for anyone looking to refresh their administrative skills, learn something new, or give back to their local community. Full training and ongoing support are provided. Basic experience with Microsoft Excel and a friendly, confident telephone manner would be beneficial.

If you’re interested, please get in touch — we’d love to hear from you!
