On June 5 the St Neots Volunteer Car Scheme attended the Big Listen, raising awareness of the valuable transport support it provides to local residents and engaging with members of the community throughout the day. The Big Listen brought the people of St Neots together for a town-wide conversation about the future of the community. Held in Market Square, St Neots, the event featured a 200-seat shared table where residents, businesses, community groups, investors, and local leaders could meet, listen, and share ideas.
Discussions focused on three key questions: what people love about St Neots, what could be improved, and what would make the town an even better place to live. The event highlighted the importance of ensuring local people have a voice as St Neots continues to grow and faces significant future development opportunities.
Organised by St Neots Initiative in partnership with the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority and supported by St Neots Town Council, the event encouraged open dialogue on topics including infrastructure, transport, economic growth, community wellbeing, and mental health support.
The event brought together local leaders, decision-makers, and residents, but the most important conversations were those with members of the public. The Big Listen marked the start of an ongoing effort to ensure that future growth and change in St Neots is shaped by the people who live and work in the town.
